• It is a fast-growing tree.
• It is a small to medium sized tree.
• This can grow up to a height of 20 m (66 ft).
• In coastal areas, the height of the tree is usually 4–8 m (13–26 ft).
• This tree is native to New Zealand.
• It grows in coastal locations.
• It is found in south coast of Great Britain.
• It has a tolerance of salt.
• It is usually grown as a hedge or screen.
• The leaves are alternate and leathery.
• It has glossy texture.
• It is yellow-green in color above and paler below with matt texture.

Growing/Caring conditions for Griselinia Littoralis or Kapuka

• The seeds are wind pollinated.
• It grows in damp, shady and well drained location.
• It does not tolerate waterlogged soil.
• These grow well in rich, moist soils and in well-drained areas.
• Add organic matter and fertilize it to enhance nutrients.
• The soil pH should be from 5.5-6.5.
• Add lime if soil is acidic and if it is basic add Sulphur to meet pH requirements.
• This plant needs partial shade.
• The temperature should be 75-85 degrees.
• Sow the seeds ½ inch deep in soil.
• The root system is extensive for this plant so sowing indoors needs at least 3 gallons of soil.
• About 6-8 months the plant flowers.
• Do not overwater the plant and fertilize occasionally.
