Raised Garden Beds

If you dread the thought of the amount of bending required to tend to your plants and flowers, and there will be a lot involved (weeding, trimming, etc), and especially if you are knees are weak, then there is a way to still enjoy your plants / veggies / fruits / flowers, and still not have the pain. The answer is simple, you need to plant these on a raised bed.
I found a good web site that provides a solution to this need. For details about this website, click on this link. They provide a number of different designs, and enumerate a number of different advantages on their web site. They use cedar for the construction of their beds.
- Raised beds produce more per sq. ft. than ordinary beds
- Raised garden beds bring more order, charm and
pleasing geometry to your garden
- Raised garden beds can extend your gardening season
- Avoid compacting the soil since you no longer have to stand in the bed
- Raised beds tend to drain away excess moisture better than ordinary garden beds
- Water, fertilizer, compost, mulch, etc. can be applied more carefully because they only need to be applied to the garden beds

Take a look at some of their designs at this link.
